A MUSEUM IS BORN
A collection of World War II German militaria was collected when Captain Gwaltney was in High School
On a trip to Europe in 1988, then Sgt. Gwaltney visited police colleagues in several countries. A few police hats were collected to display at his Police Department. This experience resulted in many trips around the world to visit police museums, military museums, and Concentration Camps. This was the inspiration to expand this collection into a Museum.
The International Police Museum of Southern California, Inc. was incorporated in 1997 and received 501 (c)(3) non-profit status..
We were able to purchase a large portion of a police museum in Austria . Members of the museum Board have donated large portions of their personal Police, Military, and Holocaust collections to the museum.
